I have been photographing this family for several years now. I met Jackie through the Coast Guard here in Cape May, NJ where she serves. She and her husband Brent have the most handsome little boy who is just a ham for the camera. Anytime Jackie schedules a photo shoot with me I know we are in for a good time. When she told me she was pregnant I could not wait to document this journey for this family.
We started out with a pregnancy announcement session at Cape May Point, NJ, at one of my favorite (and secret) spots for photo sessions. Jackie chose the most beautiful white dress, she looked absolutely radiant. Big brother was already beaming with pride, he could not wait to have a sibling.
During pregnancy announcement sessions I like to get several different views of the family with the sonogram picture as well as some love for the growing bump. I also love to capture the couple and family as they are since these are the last few months they have together before another person enters their lives. We had such a beautiful night with a perfect sunset on the beach in Cape May Point.
When it came time for Jackie’s maternity session she wanted more of a rustic feel for her photo shoot. We chose Meadow Creek Farm just outside of Avalon, NJ in Cape May Court House, NJ. This location is actually a really cool outdoor event venue mainly for weddings. It offers so much in just one space. Jackie showed up with her hair done by Sarah from Tint Color Bar paired with a flower crown from my client closet. Jackie is also a talented makeup artist so her makeup was perfection. Jackie chose two gowns for her maternity photo shoot. We started out with a beautiful gold wrap dress from Baltic Born, which I loved so much that I added it to my client closet! We began at the barn and I always love to mix in family, couple as well as individual photos during my maternity sessions.
Meadow Creek Farm includes several beautiful fields where the sun just glows through the trees, it creates the most beautiful backdrop. The glow of the sun paired with this gold dress was absolutely stunning. I always love and recommend gold, yellow and burnt orange-y shades for sunset photo sessions.
Jackie’s final dress selection came from my client closet. She chose one of my favorite style gowns, the Colbie in navy from Sew Trendy Accessories. The flounce on this style gown is my favorite feature and it looks great on everyone. We headed to the paths between the horse pastures for these photos and once again Jackie looked like a stunning glowing goddess.
Which dress is your favorite? The gold wrap dress or the navy flounce dress? There is no way I could ever choose, which is also why I have so many styles in my client closet. I love them all! If you would like more info on a maternity photo shoot be sure to check us out here.
