Firstly, we have extensive training on poses that fit all different body types, gowns that either hug your curves or flowing dresses. Secondly, we show you how to hold your belly in the most flattering ways. Last but not least, we are with you every step of the way to make sure your maternity photo shoot is perfection!
When to take maternity photos?
7th month or 27 to 31 weeks is ideal but every pregnancy is different especially when carrying more than one so your timeline could be a little sooner or a little later. We aim for a nice round visible bump.
After your 7th month, swelling and discomfort is a common symptom of pregnancy. We want to make sure to still capture your beautiful belly but when you are most comfortable.
This is why it is also important to contact us a few months in advance so we can tailor the time frame to your needs.

I wish I had photos of my mother when she was pregnant with me. Would I care what size she was or if she didn’t have the perfect complexion? No and your children won’t be looking at those things either, they will be looking at where it all started, and one fierce mama.
These photos aren’t for anyone but you and your children. When it’s over… it’s over! You can not recreate these moments. You don’t want to have the regret. You will never regret having this time documented. We want you to look back on these photos and say “I did that!” I want you to feel the connection with your baby and intimacy with your partner.

A maternity photo shoot during your baby moon is an opportunity for you and your partner to take a break and soak it all in, reminisce on the life you started, where it all began and where it’s headed…the story you are writing.
Only in town for a couple days and worried about weather? No problem, we can switch to the comfort of your own hotel room for a more intimate maternity session. One of our favorite spots is The Ashley Rose Bed and Breakfast and Lokal Hotel.

A sentimental location, spot that holds a special place in your heart, like the place you got engaged or the beach you grew up visiting are some amazing spots for your maternity pictures.

What kind of vibe do you like? What speaks to you? Are you a beach/ocean person, woodsy, rustic? Where do you connect?
We like to select locations based on what’s meaningful to you. Some examples that we love are Higbee Beach in Cape May because it provides such a variety in backdrops from woodsy to beach, Nauti Spirits Distillery in North Cape May for their farm feel, variety in the grounds through the seasons, Cape May Winery, Avalon pier and our secret spot that we only tell clients when they book.
Tips for the perfect maternity photo shoot!
This is a day to celebrate YOU and to feel like the goddess you are. Get pampered mama, make a day out of it, book a massage, get a fresh mani/pedi and schedule hair and makeup. You will show up feeling refreshed, radiant and confident which will reflect in your beautiful smile. Need help finding a hair and makeup artist? Summer maternity session tips:
Short sleeve gowns or sleeveless. accessorize with lighter shawls or kimonos. get playful in the ocean.
Winter maternity photo tips:
Long sleeve gowns. Accessorize for additional warmth with shawls, faux furs, kimonos or a blanket to wrap around you and your partner to get extra snuggly and cozy. The beaches along the shore can be very windy in the winter so non beach locations are ideal (however I know some secret spots that provide more shelter than others if the beach is where you belong.)
